About RAF Balderton Research Group

RAF Balderton research group was formed back in February 2016 when it’s two founding members Pete Stevens and Leighton Topham compiled over 25 years of Research; we were joined by Leighton’s girlfriend Debbie Taylor who has taken on the role of secretary and treasurer and Ashley Irons who has since left the group to pursue other interests, Colin also joined the group in its early stages and was persuaded to write the airfields history.

We also have other members who help with research Jackie Hall and her husband Barney and Shaun Noble whose intensive knowledge of all local history has been invaluable.

During our first two years we have attended around 15 aviation events in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire and we have given talks to several local groups with more booked for 2018.
